Irish Jesuit Mission – its Development 1926 – 2006

This work endeavours to convey something of the reality of the Irish Jesuit Mission in its achievements and short-comings, its joys and sorrows, and of the experience of individual members under the pressure of work in a difficult climate.

It is a very interesting story, often recording turbulent or difficult times involving different characters and personalities yet Jesuits united together in their endeavour to share their faith and love of God in the service of others. The Jesuits became involved in many different areas of peoples’ needs, but particularly in education – spiritual and academic, in social work and in media communication.

Over 840 pages and some 200 photos give a lively and interesting account of the caring and sacrificing Irish Jesuit fathers who have served in Hong Kong and adjoining areas for the past 80 years.
