Introduction

According to the existing arrangement, the members of the School Management Committee of Wah Yan College Kowloon comprise, inter alia, a representative of the alumni (the “Alumni Manager”). Pursuant to the resolutions passed at the Annual General Meeting 2010 of Wah Yan College Kowloon Past Students’ Association (the “Association”), the Alumni Manager shall be elected based on the principle of universal suffrage.

Election

The term of the new Alumni Manager shall commence on 1 November 2012 and the election arrangement will be announced in due course.

Voter registration

If you wish to vote at the Election, you should register as a voter first. In order to be eligible to register as a voter, the following requirements must be satisfied:

1. you shall be an alumnus of Wah Yan College Kowloon, which means that you have attended class in Wah Yan College Kowloon for not less than one full academic year and have left the school as at the date hereof; and
2. you are over 18 years old on the date of submitting your voter registration form to the Election Committee.

If you intend to run for the position of Alumni Manager, you must also register as a voter first.

To register as a voter, please complete the attached voter registration form and return the original of the same to the Election Committee on or before 31 August 2012:

In order to ensure that the Election Committee can duly receive the voter registration form, we strongly recommend you to send a copy of the same by email to the Committee at wykelection@gmail.com after you have sent the original of the voter registration form to the above address. The Committee will confirm your registration by email within 5 days after receipt of the original of your voter registration form. In order to avoid any accidental non-delivery of the voter registration form due to any reason whatsoever, we recommend you to deliver the voter registration form to the above address as early as possible.

If you have already registered as a voter during the alumni manager election in 2010, you are NOT required to register again and you are automatically eligible to vote at the forthcoming election.

If you have already registered as a voter during the alumni manager election in 2010 but would like to amend your personal particulars, please also fill in the voter registration form and deliver the same to the above address.

Each alumnus who has duly registered as a voter may nominate one candidate only to run for the Alumni Manager.

簡介

根據現行制度，九龍華仁書院之校董會中的眾成員中包括一名校友代表 (以下簡稱 “校友校董”)。根據九龍華仁書院舊生會於2010年週年大會上所通過之決議，校友校董將以普選原則選舉。

選舉

新一屆之校友校董之任期將於2012年11月1日開始，而有關新校友校董之選舉安排將於日內公佈。

選民登記

閣下若希望於是次選舉中投票，便必須先登記為選民。成為選民必須滿足下列條件：

1. 閣下為九龍華仁書院校友，即曾於九龍華仁書院就讀不少於一個完整學年的已離校人士；及
2. 閣下於提交選民登記表格之日已年滿18歲。

若閣下有意參選校友校董，閣下也必須先登記為選民。

若閣下希望登記為選民，請填妥選民登記表格，並根據表格中的指示於2012年8月31日或之前送交至下列地址予選舉委員會：

委員會將於收到閣下的選民登記表格之正本後5天內以電郵方式確認閣下之選民登記。為避免選民登記表格因任何理由意外地未能送達上述地址，委員會建議閣下盡早將選民登記表格送達上述地址。

若閣下於2010年的校友校董選舉中已登記為選民，則無須要再次登記，閣下將於來屆選舉中自動獲得投票資格。

每一位已正確地登記為選民的校友均可提名一位校友參選校友校董。

It’s time to show your talent on art design! The Wah Yan College Kowloon Past students’ Association (PSA) will adapt a new logo starting from June 2012. A logo design competition will be held to recruit inspiring logo designs. The winning design will be chosen as the official logo for PSA at the general Ex-co meeting in April 2012. It is a splendid opportunity to demonstrate your artistic personality and contribute your strength to the fraternity of Wahyanites by joining this competition, current students are most welcome!

Rules:

• The design should be an original work of the designer.
• The design shall not infringe the rights of any other third party.
• The designer unconditionally agrees that, in the event that his design is adopted as the official logo of PSA, the ownership and all other rights in connection with the design shall belong to PSA and PSA shall have the absolute and exclusive rights to use the same.
• The PSA reserve the rights for final decisions in connection with the use of the design and the designer irrevocably undertakes that he will not make any demand, request, claims or commence any legal proceedings against PSA in respect of or in connection with the design.

Submission format:

• Softcopy format: ai, psd, tif ,indd or jpg
• Resolution: 1500*1500.

• Participant must be an alumnus or a current student of Wah Yan College, Kowloon.
• Please send your contribution to li.yin.pok@gmail.com . The email should be entitled with WYKPSA logo design competition and your full name, graduation year (F.5 or the highest class attended if you left before F.5) or class (For current student).

Awaiting a chance to meet your classmates and other Wahyanites? The Past Students’ Association would like to introduce you the Homecoming Concert 2012 – this wonderful and meaningful event to accomplish your wish.

Homecoming Concert has become one of the most exciting annual events for all of us. With the theme ‘Brotherhood’, it does not only implicate the relationship between you and your classmates, but also that among all the Wahyanites, including the current students. Through this event, we look forward that the relationship among all the Wahyanites could be further strengthened..

The concert will be held on 25th February, 2012 (Sat) at 7.30 p.m. at WYK School Hall. Alumni, current students, parents and teachers are going to perform on stage. The entire surplus from the concert will be donated to the school for renovating and expanding the staff room, as the condition of it is deteriorating and it can now hardly accommodate all the teachers.

The school requires a sum of HK$700,000 to carry out the renovation and expansion plan and we would like to take this opportunity to appeal for your support. Your attendance and/ or sponsorship will not only endorse the hard work of the organizers and performers, but also play a crucial role in sponsoring the renovation project.

A Charity Movie Premiere, organised by an alumnus Mr. Lee Yu Leung, will be held on Friday, 10th February 2012 at The Grand Cinema, The Elements, Kowloon Station at 9:30pm. The prices of tickets are HK$1,000 and HK$5,000 each.

Mr. Lee aims to raise fund through this Premiere to support the 2 Wah Yan Colleges in Hong Kong and Kowloon. The net proceeds of this event will be donated to the Foundation for small class teaching, teacher formation and whole person development for students in our Schools.

The title of the movie is “My Week with Marilyn“, the main actress of which Ms Michelle Williams had just won the Best Actress Award (A Motion Picture – Comedy Or Musical) in the Golden Globe this morning!
